Ms. Laurence Herszberg, founder and general director of Series Mania, and professional jury president, M-K Kennedy, Executive Managing Director of TV Series, STUDIOCANAL, announced during the first evening the winning project of Series Mania Forum’s annual Co-Pro Pitching Sessions. Of the 15 projects selected and pitched on the first day of Series Mania Forum, the industry arm of the Series Mania Festival, the jury team selected the comedy romance from France and Japan Tokyo Crush as winner of the Series Mania Forum Best Project Award. The 8 x30 'comedy romance, produced by Jonas Ben Haiem and Jean-Félix Dealberto for Salle Commune, and Hiroko Oda for Flag Inc, got a check for €50,000.
At the ceremony, Series Mania Forum also honored Isabelle Degeorges, President of Gaumont Television, with the fifth annual “Woman in Series Award”. This award is given to a remarkable woman from the audiovisual industry to honor her vision and leadership.

Tokyo Crush
For its third edition, the creative initiative SERIESMAKERS, supported by the European content powerhouse Beta Group, has announced The Interregnum as this year’s winner to receive the Beta & Kirch Foundation Award in collaboration with HFF Munich for €50,000. As a part of receiving the honorary award, the team from The Interregnum will have the opportunity to work closely with Beta’s Content and Co-Production Division to develop a pilot script and a full package. The Spanish political thriller Interregnum by creator/director/writer Simón Casal and producer Mariela Besuievsky is set in 2031, when the EU faces a decisive referendum to approve an A.I. system that would replace human judges. As Inma and Lyda, the Yes and No campaign managers, battle for victory, a dark secret surrounding the death of the A.I. system's creator, Alicia, threatens to revolutionize not only the campaign, but everything they believed themselves to be.

Interregnum
With last year’s winners being Sex Education - Season 4 (Netflix France) and a Jury Special Mention going to Dark Hearts - Season 2 (Newen Connect France), House of the Dragon – Season 2 (8 x 60’) from HBO & Max was announced as the winner of the third annual Best Marketing Initiative Award, a prize awarded by Series Mania to celebrate creativity in series’ marketing. It is not only for the promotion to the viewing audience (BtoC), but also all initiatives undertaken by producers and distributors to raise awareness toward commissioners and buyers (BtoB).
